Lexicon's Medical Transcription operation aims to create Electronic Medical Records (EMR) by transcribing voice files of the doctor into word-processing files in the computer and keep track of
 
We also developed "Lexicon MT Manager" a tool to automate the file transfer between doctor's office and Lexicon for ease of use.

Accuracy:
Besides top-class transcription, an accuracy of near 100% has been achieved. 
To achieve this level of accuracy, the transcription staff is well trained through classroom sessions, hands-on sessions and supervised live sessions. After the transcription is done, all files are passed through proofreaders with high-level skills. Medical and pills dictionaries, On-line help, and Medical encyclopedias are extensively used for the purpose. 
In rare cases, when there is poor audibility in the input file or there is a term, which cannot be resolved, that portion is typed in red color as the nearest sounding word or left blank depending upon the choice of the doctor for feedback. 
In the initial stages, feedback is obtained from the doctor?s clinic on the unresolved terms to create a dictionary, which helps in subsequent files. This is the process of refinement through which we achieve near 100% accuracy.
Accents:
We are familiar with various American accents as well British accents and Doctors of Indian, Chinese and other origins.
Security
Encryption of all files while transferring is ensured through the Automation tool. NDA or Non Disclosure Agreement is executed by all employees.
Turn-around:
Most often, the transcribed files are returned to the doctor?s clinic in 12 hours time. In rare instances, this has gone up to a maximum of 36 hours. The usual turn-around is in 12 hours.
Pilot Project:
The project starts with a pilot project, where a few typical files of the doctor are recorded and sent out for transcription. The whole activity including the voice recording, automatic transfer of files and other issues are coordinated during this phase and smooth operation is established. Accuracy levels and satisfactory quality of service is also established during this phase.
Free Trial:  
If required, a free trial period of 1 week's service is offered after the pilot project to provide proof of concept and demonstrate high quality service.
Cost Advantage:
We offer an attractive rate, without any hidden costs. In fact, there is a double advantage for the doctor - of competitive line rate as well as an advantageous line counting mechanism.
Billing:
There is an automated Billing facility available for computation of the Medical Transcription charges at any time. It provides the invoice for the period, and the list of files with the line count in each file. We bill once in 2 weeks or once a month, as per mutual convenience.
HIPAA Compliance:
Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act compliance will be ensured.
